Financial Analyst

About the role

We are partnering with a leading conglomerate in Colombo to recruit a Financial Analyst who will own and manage the CBM‑based open book costing model across the end‑to‑end supply chain. The role focuses on cost analysis, inventory valuation, procurement finance, and financial controls to drive cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the CBM‑based open book costing model across the supply chain.
• Calculate landed costs including FOB, freight, insurance, clearance, and transportation.
• Track inventory costing by Port of Origin and shipment, monitor average landed cost and storage costs per CBM/month.
• Identify obsolescence provisions, assess financial impact of slow‑moving inventory, and propose optimization opportunities.
• Monitor purchase price variance against budget and analyze supplier costs for cost‑saving opportunities.
• Manage warehouse costs per CBM stored and analyze transportation costs per kilometre, including damages and consumables.
• Monitor demurrage, detention, and other cost leakages at ports, and strengthen financial controls.
• Track AOD turnaround time, measure financial impact of delays, and drive compliance with imports team.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams to provide actionable financial insights and reporting.
