Finance Director

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the financial strategy and operations for MSF South Asia, overseeing India and Sri Lanka. Reporting to the Executive Director, the role ensures transparent, timely, and reliable financial information for internal decision‑making and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define, coordinate and monitor finance strategies, policies, internal controls and legal compliance across the region.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets, long‑term strategic plans and forecasting in line with SPARC agreements.
• Oversee international financial reporting, control cycles, audits and tax planning.
• Track performance indicators, analyse financial trends and prepare dashboards for senior management and the board.
• Manage internal finance and compliance teams, fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ensure the legal set‑up complies with Indian regulatory framework and MSF international standards.
• Represent MSF South Asia on global finance platforms and support strategic planning for the mission.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance leadership, preferably in non‑profit or humanitarian contexts.
• Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies and internal control systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with executive teams, boards and external partners.
