Data Science Manager

About the role

The Data Science Manager drives innovative, strategic solutions by blending data analytics tools with business acumen. The role focuses on leveraging data to generate actionable insights that support buy‑side and sell‑side deal narratives, test value‑creation hypotheses, and deliver insight‑driven analytics through advanced analysis, reporting, and dashboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client engagements by planning, documenting goals, and outlining paths to completion.
• Oversee the development of dashboards and modify projects based on user insights.
• Train the team on advanced business intelligence tools, including complex calculations, data blending, and optimization of data extracts.
• Manage expectations regarding deliverables and deadlines while leading change efforts.
• Collaborate closely with Directors, PPMDs, and senior staff to resolve issues promptly.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and client relationships to maximize value delivery.
• Participate in proposals and business development calls alongside senior leadership.
• Mentor and assess junior team members, handling performance reviews and career development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Statistics or a related field.
• Overall 6+ years of consulting or analytics experience at a national or global level.
• 4‑6 years of hands‑on experience executing analytics engagements within Transaction Services, including buy‑side and sell‑side due diligence.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a fast‑growing practice.
• Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python for data preparation and transformation.
• Experience with Alteryx for data blending and workflow automation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including handling large datasets and Power Pivot.
• Ability to build complex calculations, table calculations, mapping, and optimize data extracts in BI tools.
