AWS Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Infrastructure Engineer will lead the implementation and support of core IT infrastructure while driving the migration of on‑premises environments to AWS. This role owns both on‑prem and cloud assets throughout the transition, ensuring continuity, performance and security.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and maintain physical and virtual servers (Hyper‑V, EC2) and ensure high availability.
• Manage backup and recovery operations using Veeam for virtual and physical workloads.
• Provision and manage AWS resources such as EC2 instances, RDS databases, S3 and EBS storage.
• Support network infrastructure, including VPN configurations, Unifi switches and access points, and optionally SonicWall firewalls.
• Monitor infrastructure health with PRTG and AWS CloudWatch, perform patch cycles and respond to incidents.
• Document changes, create troubleshooting guides and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Administer on‑prem Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and SharePoint Online for user access and collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT support, system administration or cloud operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Customer‑focused mindset with effective communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with core AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3/EBS, CloudWatch).
• Windows Server administration and Hyper‑V virtualization.
• Veeam backup and recovery for virtual and physical environments.
• Active Directory management, including OUs, Group Policy and domain services.
• Scripting with PowerShell or Bash (optional).
• Microsoft Entra ID and SharePoint Online administration.
• Network management with Unifi equipment; familiarity with SoftEther VPN.
• Optional: SonicWall firewall configuration and management.
