Audit Staff – Entry Level Accounting Role

About the role

The Audit Staff position is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Colombo. You will support audit engagements from planning through execution, testing controls, verifying financial data, and documenting procedures in line with professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and performing audit engagements for diverse clients.
• Test internal controls, verify financial information, and prepare working papers.
• Support the preparation of audit reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review financial statements, identify variances, and communicate findings to senior team members.
• Interact with client personnel to obtain necessary documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes and client service.

Required profile

• Ability to work with financial statements, including preparation, review, and basic analysis.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Foundational knowledge of finance and solid accounting principles.
• Relevant academic background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications or progress toward them are a plus.
• Attention to detail, ethical conduct, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with office productivity tools and willingness to learn audit software.
