Assistant Manager – Health & Safety

About the role

Varun Beverages is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) initiatives across its manufacturing sites. You will ensure compliance with legal requirements, drive continuous improvement, and maintain a zero‑accident culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and review risk assessments regularly to mitigate hazards for all employees.
• Plan and execute periodic HSE audits in line with the audit schedule.
• Ensure all legal and regulatory safety and health requirements are fulfilled.
• Update management on HSE performance and maintain the HSE management system.
• Promote continual improvement, eliminate hazards and environmental impacts, and strive for zero major or fatal incidents.
• Prepare, review and implement EMS and safety policies.
• Investigate daily health and safety incidents, report findings and recommend preventive actions.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Health & Safety or equivalent (e.g., NDT in Chemical, Mechanical or Polymer).
• Knowledge of ISO 14000, OSHAS and ISO 9000 standards.
• Certified auditor in EMS or OSHAS is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem‑solving skills related to HSE.
• Thorough understanding of safety standards and OSHAS.
