Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting & Compliance

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting & Compliance will support Tata Communications in ensuring accurate financial statements, proper fixed‑asset management, and adherence to local regulatory requirements in Sri Lanka. The role combines financial reporting, intercompany accounting, and compliance activities, requiring close collaboration with operational, legal, and audit teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in line with local accounting standards and IFRS.
• Maintain and verify the fixed‑asset register, coordinating physical asset verification.
• Support asset capitalization and disposal processes with the Fixed Asset and operational teams.
• Manage vendor due‑diligence, creation, and related compliance tasks.
• Handle intercompany accounting transactions and reconciliations.
• Process EPF payments and submit statutory returns on time.
• Oversee legal review, vetting, and finalisation of local agreements and contracts.
• Administer employee and asset insurance policies, including renewals and claims.
• Post general accrual journal entries for accurate period‑end reporting.
• Coordinate with banking partners on signatory authorisations and system user changes.
• Prepare and submit employee records and BOI performance reports.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure statutory, regulatory, and governance compliance.
• Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Partially or fully qualified CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Self‑motivated team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SAP financial modules.
