Assistant Manager Financial Control (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Financial Accounting and Control will join the Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE) team at London Stock Exchange Group. This fixed‑term position (9‑12 months) supports subsidiaries in Colombo and across the Group, driving continuous improvement, standardising processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate financial accounting and control services to Group subsidiaries.
• Perform general ledger and sub‑ledger transactions, reconciliations and analysis.
• Support management reporting, prepare analyses and ensure adherence to Group policies.
• Standardise processes, document procedures and build resilience within the team.
• Onboard new scope, create training materials and align processes to the Target Operating Model.
• Assist external audits and collaborate with auditors on queries.
• Participate in Group projects, system implementations and cross‑geography initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a recognised professional qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a shared‑services environment.
• Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Strong analytical, planning and prioritisation skills with a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with SAP, Oracle, Oracle Fusion and Blackline accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for complex spreadsheet modelling.
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts and financial controls.
