Accountant

About the role

Liquor Land, part of Winsley Estate, seeks an experienced, detail‑oriented Accountant to manage daily sales reconciliations, inventory valuation, supplier payments and statutory reporting for its retail wine and beverage business.

Key responsibilities

• Audit daily POS receipts, cash collections and credit‑card settlements.
• Oversee retail inventory valuation, monthly stock verification and wastage/breakage reconciliations.
• Verify distributor and supplier invoices and manage settlement schedules.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management accounts and cash‑flow reports.
• Handle statutory returns and compliance including VAT, SSCL and EPF/ETF.
• Manage bank reconciliations, banking transactions and petty‑cash.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in retail, FMCG or wine & spirits.
• Professional qualification (CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, CMA, AAT) or a degree in Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan tax regulations (VAT, SSCL).
• High integrity and accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or POS systems.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
