Accountant

About the role

Pure Escapes is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end and year‑end close, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will collaborate with internal departments and external partners to deliver timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and other month‑end adjustments.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Process supplier payments and customer receipts accurately and on time.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with cash‑management activities.
• Support credit control and follow‑up on outstanding customer balances.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and assist with financial reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Prepare VAT returns and support statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and process depreciation.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
• Analyse financial data to identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with operational teams to resolve finance‑related queries.
• Participate in ad‑hoc financial projects and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• ACCA fully or partially qualified.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in the tourism industry is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
