Visiting Lecturer – Engineering

About the role

The Visiting Lecturer – Engineering will join the ECU Sri Lanka campus to deliver high-quality teaching and learning in assigned engineering subjects. The role involves preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions and assessments, while providing academic guidance and support to undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops and practical laboratory classes in subjects such as Energy and Resource Engineering, Engineering Drawing & CAD, Engineering Mechanics, Materials & Manufacturing, and Introductory Physics.
• Prepare structured, engaging teaching materials aligned with the approved curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Explain engineering concepts clearly and relate theory to real-world industry applications using case studies, demonstrations and problem-solving activities.
• Utilise appropriate teaching methodologies and technology to foster critical thinking, analytical skills and innovation.
• Maintain a professional, positive learning environment and assess student performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline; a Master’s degree or higher is an advantage.
• Relevant professional qualifications or industry certifications are valued.
• Previous university or higher-education teaching experience, especially in engineering foundation subjects.
• Significant industry experience in engineering fields, particularly where practical or technical components are involved.
• Experience working with undergraduate students is preferred.
