UK Bookkeeping Team Lead / Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

We are seeking an experienced UK Bookkeeping Team Lead to manage a high‑performing bookkeeping team serving UK clients. This hands‑on leadership position blends deep UK accounting expertise with strong people‑management and client‑communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of 10+ bookkeeping and accounting professionals.
• Allocate workloads, monitor productivity and ensure deadlines are met.
• Review bookkeeping and VAT work for accuracy and quality.
• Provide technical guidance on accounting and VAT queries.
• Handle escalated client issues and maintain direct communication with UK clients.
• Identify errors, implement corrective actions and drive process improvements.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on UK bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of UK VAT and VAT return preparation.
• Proven experience supervising 10+ accounting/bookkeeping staff.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to manage client escalations and technical queries.
• Experience with UK month‑end processes and Management Accounts.
• Exposure to CT600 and Self‑Assessment is highly desirable.
