Travel Sales Manager

About the role

The Travel Sales Manager is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Colombo, responsible for leading the sales team and driving revenue growth across key travel markets and product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the sales team, set targets and monitor performance metrics.
• Design and execute strategies to expand customer segments and increase sales of tailor‑made itineraries and travel packages.
• Manage daily sales operations, prepare forecasts, and collaborate with marketing and operations to optimise campaigns.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, travel agents and partner organisations, ensuring high‑quality service.
• Identify new business opportunities, conduct market analysis and contribute to business planning initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Proven experience in business planning, sales forecasting and budgeting for travel products.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Hands‑on experience in sales operations, pipeline management and CRM usage.
• Prior experience in travel, tourism, hospitality or destination management, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Leadership skills to motivate and develop a fast‑paced sales team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
