Trainee A/C Technician

About the role

MindPlus (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a motivated Trainee A/C Technician to join its on‑site team in Sri Lanka. This full‑time position offers hands‑on training while supporting senior technicians in installing, maintaining and repairing air‑conditioning systems across residential, commercial and industrial sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with installation, servicing and repair of A/C units.
• Support routine inspections, cleaning of filters and checking refrigerant levels.
• Inspect and verify electrical connections and help diagnose basic faults.
• Perform basic plumbing tasks related to drainage and piping for HVAC systems.
• Follow safety procedures, document work performed and communicate updates to supervisors.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn core A/C troubleshooting and system diagnosis.
• Basic understanding or eagerness to learn plumbing tasks linked to HVAC.
• Interest in preventive maintenance activities.
• Foundational knowledge of electricity and safe handling of electrical components.
• Readiness to learn EPA and other environmental standards for refrigerants.
• Technical or vocational education in HVAC, electrical or mechanical fields, or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical capability to work at heights, in confined spaces and handle tools safely.
• Effective communication and a collaborative team approach.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning troubleshooting.
• HVAC preventive maintenance (filter cleaning, refrigerant checks).
• Basic plumbing for HVAC (drainage and piping).
• Electrical safety handling in HVAC systems.
