Tour Consultant – Sales & Operations

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Tour Consultant – Sales & Operations to join our team in Sri Lanka. The role focuses on generating travel sales, building customer relationships and coordinating tours from inquiry to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Actively promote and sell outbound and inbound tour packages, private tours, group tours, cruises, rail tours and customized holidays.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, social media and other channels.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable destinations, itineraries, hotels, transportation and travel packages.
• Prepare competitive quotations and customized travel proposals.
• Follow up consistently on quotations, inquiries and leads to achieve individual and team sales targets.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
• Identify new sales opportunities through referrals, repeat business and corporate clients.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, bookings and customer interactions.
• Negotiate with suppliers and coordinate with hotels, airlines, transport providers, guides and overseas partners.
• Convert confirmed sales into properly coordinated bookings and travel arrangements.
• Assist customers before, during and after their trips to ensure a high level of service.
• Handle changes, special requests and customer concerns professionally.
• Stay up‑to‑date with destinations, visa requirements, airline schedules and tourism trends.
• Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of bookings.

Required profile

• Previous experience in travel sales, tourism, tour operations or a related field (preferred).
• Strong sales and negotiation ability with a proven track record of converting inquiries into bookings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service and relationship‑building capabilities.
• Good knowledge of international destinations and travel products.
• Ability to prepare attractive and competitive travel quotations.
