Test Lead – Automation (Selenium & Playwright)

About the role

HCLTech is seeking an experienced Test Lead to drive automation initiatives for web applications. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright, ensuring high‑quality releases across the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks with Selenium (Java) and Playwright.
• Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications.
• Perform API testing and validation using Postman and REST Assured.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed quality throughout the development process.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve automation test failures.
• Write SQL queries to validate backend data and ensure database integrity.
• Manage automation code repositories using Git/GitHub.
• Drive automation best practices as a hands‑on individual contributor.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in quality engineering or test automation.
• Strong background in Selenium with Java and Playwright.
• Proven experience building automation frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with API testing tools (REST Assured, Postman).
• Solid SQL and database validation skills.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub for version control.
