Technician – Manufacturing Maintenance

About the role

Our client, a leading global manufacturing organisation, is looking for a skilled and safety‑conscious Technician to join the factory maintenance team in Horana. You will be responsible for fitting, fabrication, machinery installation, repairs, welding and the upkeep of mechanical equipment to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical fitting, fabrication and machinery repair work.
• Install, dismantle and assemble industrial machinery and equipment.
• Repair and maintain pumps, valves and steam‑related equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and machinery manuals.
• Maintain mechanical tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Perform welding operations (Arc, TIG, Oxy‑Acetylene, Plasma Cutting).
• Diagnose mechanical issues and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Follow all required safety procedures and maintain safe working practices.

Required profile

• Full‑time NAB, CGTTI, ATI, NCT qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
• NVQ Level 4 in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum three years of industrial experience.
• Practical experience in mechanical fitting, fabrication, welding and machinery maintenance.
• Ability to understand technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Willingness to work in a factory environment and respond to maintenance requirements.
