Technical Sales Manager (B2B) – Packaging Industry

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Technical Sales Manager to drive B2B growth in the flexible packaging sector. The role involves building relationships with customers across food, beverage, personal care and industrial markets and delivering technically‑sound packaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts across multiple sectors.
• Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, technical discussions, proposal preparation, pricing negotiations and order conversion.
• Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
• Provide technical recommendations on flexible packaging structures, films, laminates, barrier requirements and printing technologies.
• Collaborate with design, production planning, quality and technical teams to create customer‑specific solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing movements to inform commercial strategy.
• Coordinate with production, finance and quality teams to ensure delivery commitments and resolve customer issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–8 years of B2B technical sales or business development experience, preferably in flexible packaging or related industries.
• Proven ability to develop new business and manage high‑value customer portfolios.
• Strong understanding of margins, cost structures and commercial decision‑making.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel for customer visits.

Required skills

• Knowledge of flexible packaging materials, laminates, pouches, roll stock, shrink and barrier films.
• Understanding of gravure and flexographic printing processes and packaging production workflows.
• Ability to interpret packaging specifications and translate technical requirements into solutions.
• Familiarity with solution‑selling techniques for packaging applications.
