Technical Lead – Data Platform

About the role

Cut+Dry is looking for a Technical Lead to own the architecture and roadmap of its Snowflake‑based data platform. You will guide a growing data team, set technical standards, and drive multi‑quarter initiatives that impact the entire engineering organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the Snowflake data platform, ingestion pipelines, and reporting infrastructure.
• Establish data modeling, schema design, query patterns, testing, and observability standards.
• Lead design reviews, make build‑vs‑buy decisions for ELT tools, orchestration, BI, and replication.
• Design and implement scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, and custom code.
• Optimize Snowflake performance, cost, and storage; manage warehouse sizing, clustering, and caching.
• Own operational health of critical dashboards, set SLAs, monitor pipelines, and lead incident response.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on application‑to‑warehouse integration and data contracts.
• Operate data workloads on AWS (S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM) and integrate with CI/CD and IaC pipelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software or data engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior/tech‑lead capacity.
• Deep production‑level expertise in data platforms, schema design, performance tuning, RBAC, and cost optimization.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional technical initiatives over multiple quarters.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting trade‑offs and translating business needs.
