Team Manager – Legal

About the role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Team Manager – Legal Officer to lead and manage a team of legal professionals while ensuring the effective delivery of high‑quality legal services. The ideal candidate will combine legal expertise with people leadership, operational management, quality assurance, and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the legal team, including workload allocation, performance monitoring, and team development.
• Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to team members to achieve performance and quality targets.
• Review and analyze legal documents and provide guidance on complex legal matters.
• Ensure accuracy, quality, compliance, and timely completion of legal work.
• Monitor team productivity, workload, turnaround times, and operational performance.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, queries, and escalations professionally.
• Identify legal and operational risks and escalate significant matters appropriately.
• Prepare performance, productivity, and operational reports for management.
• Maintain accurate documentation, confidentiality, and compliance with internal procedures.

Required profile

• LLB degree or equivalent recognized legal qualification.
• Attorney‑at‑Law qualification obtained prior to 2022, with required Law College examinations completed.
• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in a legal, corporate legal, legal operations, or related environment.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership, supervision, or people management.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
