Team Lead Bookkeeper – UK Offshore Experience

About the role

We are seeking a Team Lead Bookkeeper to manage a team delivering bookkeeping services to UK‑based clients from our Colombo office. The role ensures accurate and timely financial records in line with UK accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation and review of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Maintain general ledgers and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements for multiple client portfolios.
• Coordinate with client firms to clarify requirements and ensure correct use of accounting software.
• Mentor and monitor team performance, implement best practices, and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and finance with hands‑on day‑to‑day accounting experience.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements.
• Experience with accounting software commonly used by UK firms.
• Solid understanding of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Prior experience working with UK clients or in a UK offshoring environment (highly desirable).
• Relevant qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or university degree in Accounting/Finance).
• Demonstrated leadership, attention to detail, and strong English communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple client portfolios, and maintain confidentiality.
