Taxation Manager

About the role

The Taxation Manager will lead all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with income tax, VAT, SSCL and other statutory obligations. The role supports strategic financial decisions by keeping the organization up‑to‑date with evolving tax laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate profit‑based and revenue‑based tax liabilities, including Income Tax, VAT, SSCL and Deferred Tax.
• Ensure timely payment and reconciliation of all tax liabilities.
• Handle correspondence with the Department of Inland Revenue, respond to information requests, prepare submissions and draft appeals.
• Coordinate tax audits and file tax returns, maintaining reconciliations with accounting records.
• Advise on dividend declarations, exempt income transfers and product structuring.
• Support business lines on tax implications during budgeting and planning.
• Participate in system development for effective tax management.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of taxation experience, with at least 4 years in a managerial capacity.
• Degree or professional qualification in accounting, finance or related field.
• Prior experience in the financial services industry; audit firm training is a plus.
• Membership in a recognized accounting/finance body is advantageous.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Income Tax, VAT, SSCL and Deferred Tax statutes.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with financial systems.
