Systems Engineer (L1) – Service Desk

About the role

Brennan is looking for a Systems Engineer (L1) to join its Service Desk team. You will act as the primary point of contact for all customer IT requests, building strong client relationships while delivering smart technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support via phone, live chat or email, interpreting and logging customer issues accurately.
• Manage tickets in ServiceNow (or equivalent), ensuring correct classification, triage, time capture and escalation.
• Maintain seamless operation of client systems during regular hours and after‑hours on‑call support.
• Follow Brennan’s incident assessment and resolution processes, adhering to ITIL best practices.
• Document core applications, dependencies and ownership in internal systems.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in an IT discipline.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a similar desktop‑support role.
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices and a Microsoft certification such as AZ‑900 or MS‑900.
• Strong oral, written and active‑listening communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure.

Required skills

• Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS, Linux desktop operating systems.
• Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
• Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
• Virtualisation platforms: Citrix, VMware, Hyper‑V.
• Intune, Azure, and mobile device management for Apple, Android and Windows phones.
• Antivirus solutions such as Sophos, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike.
• Print server and print‑queue troubleshooting.
