Statutory Finance Manager

About the role

British American Tobacco is seeking a Statutory Finance Manager to join its Colombo team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate statutory reporting, supporting corporate finance activities, and providing financial insights to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee statutory accounts preparation, financial reporting, and month‑end/quarter‑end closing activities in line with governance and reporting timelines.
• Perform detailed reviews of financial transactions, ensure accuracy of external reporting, and monitor compliance with accounting standards, listing requirements, and governance policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, handling audit requests, addressing audit matters, and ensuring timely completion.
• Identify efficiency opportunities, drive improvements in finance processes, and strengthen finance policies, procedures, and control environments.
• Support corporate finance operations, including transactional finance and corporate insurance portfolio activities.
• Provide the Audit Committee and Board with financial insights, reporting, and compliance updates.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a finance or statutory reporting role; FMCG experience is a plus.
• Degree or professional accountancy qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) – full or part qualification.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with finance systems, preferably SAP, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and BPC.
