Staff Officer – Timber Sourcing

About the role

We are seeking a self‑motivated Staff Officer to manage timber sourcing for our manufacturing facility in Ingiriya. The role requires strong communication, negotiation abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure to ensure uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify potential timber suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimise cost efficiency.
• Ensure timely procurement of required timber to prevent production delays.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to verify that sourced timber meets specifications and regulatory standards.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Keep accurate procurement records, contracts, and reports for audit and reporting purposes.

Required profile

• Qualified with G.C.E. Advanced Level and relevant professional qualifications.
• Work experience in timber sourcing is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and perform under pressure.
• Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and vendor management capabilities.
• Willingness to demonstrate high responsibility and flexible working hours to achieve targets.
