Specifications Engineer – Construction Chemicals (Senior/Junior)

About the role

We are looking for a technically proficient Specifications Engineer to connect product expertise with strategic stakeholder engagement. The role involves working closely with architects, structural consultants, design engineers and project decision‑makers to get our advanced construction chemical systems specified in major building and infrastructure projects across Sri Lanka.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical specifications, datasheets and design documentation in line with project requirements and industry standards.
• Identify, engage and consult with architects, civil engineers and design consultants to position product solutions early in the design stage.
• Secure product inclusions in Bills of Quantities, tender documents and official technical specifications.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, R&D and technical teams to ensure compliance with regional and global engineering standards.
• Organise and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, seminars and CPD sessions for engineering teams and design firms.
• Provide pre‑sales technical assistance, post‑sales support and product application training to sales and project execution teams.
• Track project pipelines from specification through site execution and prepare periodic reports on conversion progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience in specifications, technical support or engineering consultancy, preferably in construction chemicals or building materials.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, structural engineering standards and technical specification preparation.
• Excellent analytical, presentation and technical writing abilities with a focus on influencing design audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with technical documentation software.
