Software Architect (Part‑Time – Fortnightly Engagement)

About the role

Growth Prof is seeking an experienced Software Architect to provide strategic guidance on a part‑time basis. You will shape the technical direction of our tax‑industry software, review designs, and ensure architecture documentation stays up‑to‑date while working remotely for about three hours every fortnight.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing software architecture and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate technical solutions against business and product goals.
• Provide architectural guidance and feedback to the development team.
• Maintain and update architecture diagrams, documentation, and design drafts.
• Ensure solutions follow best practices for scalability, security, maintainability, and performance.
• Identify technical risks and propose practical mitigations.
• Participate in fortnightly architecture review sessions.
• Support technical decision‑making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Software Architect, Solution Architect, or Senior Software Engineer with architecture responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and system integration.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Understanding of cloud technologies, APIs, microservices and modern application architecture.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and provide practical technical guidance.
