About the role
The British Council Sri Lanka is seeking an experienced educator to lead its Young Learners programme. As a Senior Teacher you will mentor staff, ensure high‑quality delivery, and support the centre’s strategic goals across multiple locations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide line‑management, regular classroom observations and performance reviews for teachers, fostering professional growth and wellbeing.
- Lead the annual CPD programme, model best practice through demos, development sessions and peer observations, and share ELT innovations.
- Oversee product delivery, ensuring teaching frameworks, safeguarding, EDI and SEND policies are applied and communicated.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service to address academic enquiries, pilot new courses and introduce global products with appropriate training.
Required profile
- Undergraduate degree.
- Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate in TESOL.
- Cambridge DELTA, Trinity Diploma in TESOL or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching young learners and leading teaching teams.
