Senior Shipping Executive – NVOCC / Vessel Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Shipping Executive to lead NVOCC and vessel operations, ensuring smooth cargo movements and coordination with shipping lines, agents and internal teams. The role is based in Colombo and offers a competitive monthly package.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day NVOCC shipping operations and coordinate cargo bookings.
• Monitor vessel schedules, port activities, arrivals and departures.
• Liaise with shipping liners, vessel operators, agents, customers and internal departments.
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, Shipping Instructions, Manifests and Delivery Orders.
• Track cargo status, resolve operational issues and ensure adherence to cut‑off times.
• Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, bookings and shipment status.
• Respond to customer and stakeholder queries regarding cargo and vessel schedules.
• Produce operational reports and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, Maritime Studies or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in NVOCC, freight forwarding or shipping line coordination.
• Practical knowledge of vessel operations, cargo movements and sea‑freight processes.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple shipments and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CargoWise or a comparable freight‑forwarding system.
