Senior SDET – AWS & Python Engineer

About the role

The London Stock Exchange Group is seeking a hands‑on Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to drive high‑performance data solutions within its financial services and data domains. You will work in an Agile environment, leveraging AWS serverless technologies and Python to build, test, and optimise data pipelines that support equity, fixed‑income, and index products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain AWS‑based data pipelines using services such as Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora Postgres, SQS, API Gateway and Athena.
• Implement automated testing frameworks, craft test cases, scripts and reports for functional and non‑functional validation.
• Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines for daily regression testing.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data ingestion, mastering, management and distribution meet quality standards.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from design to production deployment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience developing with Python and AWS in financial services or data‑intensive environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong communication and documentation skills with a focus on quality and detail.

Required skills

• Python (3.x) and related data‑manipulation libraries.
• AWS services: Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora Postgres, SQS, API Gateway, Athena.
• SQL and NoSQL database design and querying.
• CI/CD tools and automation frameworks.
• Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• QA automation and test case development.
