Senior QA Engineer (Automation)

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web UI, API, integration, and microservices testing.
• Develop automated regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end test suites using Playwright, Selenium, Java, and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Automate API testing using Postman, Newman, REST Assured, or Playwright API.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot test execution failures.
• Apply Git-based version control, code reviews, and automation coding standards.
• Perform SQL-based database and backend validation to ensure data integrity and business rule compliance.
• Analyze requirements, identify risks, and develop comprehensive test strategies and coverage.
• Conduct functional, exploratory, regression, and risk-based testing alongside automation.
• Investigate test failures, perform root‑cause analysis, and document software defects with supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality risks and improve testability.
• Review automation code, provide technical guidance, and mentor QA team members.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide QA estimates and release readiness updates.
• Support production issue analysis, post‑release validation, and continuous quality engineering improvements.
• Ensure awareness of healthcare IT, data privacy, and regulated‑software quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of overall software quality assurance experience, including at least 3 years of strong hands‑on test automation engineering experience.
• ISTQB or equivalent software‑testing certification (advantage).
• Relevant automation, programming, cloud, DevOps, or quality‑engineering certifications (advantage).
• Demonstrated experience building or significantly contributing to production‑grade automation frameworks and automated regression suites.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum product‑development teams and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and other QA engineers.
• Experience with web applications, APIs, databases, CI/CD‑enabled automation, and distributed/microservice‑based systems (strongly preferred).
