Senior Manager – Finance

About the role

The Senior Manager – Finance will partner with the CFO and senior leadership to shape financial strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive performance across a leading insurance organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy, translating business plans into measurable outcomes.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 compliance.
• Monitor capital adequacy, solvency, dividend capacity and reinsurance impacts.
• Collaborate with actuarial teams on IFRS 17 measurement, product profitability and embedded value assessments.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and performance analysis against KPIs.
• Partner with investment and treasury functions on portfolio performance, liquidity and asset‑liability matching.
• Prepare Board papers, management reports and support audit, risk and investment committees.
• Drive finance transformation, automation and data‑governance initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop finance staff, building technical and leadership capabilities.

Required profile

• Professional qualification – CA, ACCA or CIMA (mandatory).
• Minimum 10 years finance experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, performance management and business partnering.
• Experience in a regulated financial services environment; insurance sector exposure preferred.
• Hands‑on knowledge of IFRS 17 and/or IFRS 9.
• Excellent commercial awareness, analytical and decision‑making skills.
• Proven people‑leadership ability to develop and motivate teams.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management with senior leadership, regulators and auditors.
