Senior Manager – Commercial Finance

About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven finance professional to join a leadership team as Senior Manager – Commercial Finance for a leading FMCG company. This role will partner closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain functions to drive financial performance, cost optimisation and operational excellence across the value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the finance business partner to Manufacturing and Supply Chain leadership teams.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis for manufacturing and supply chain operations.
• Develop and monitor product costing models, standard costs and cost‑optimisation initiatives.
• Analyse manufacturing yields, process efficiencies, wastage and conversion costs.
• Provide insights into raw‑material consumption, production efficiency, inventory management and profitability.
• Drive cost‑control initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
• Lead monthly performance reviews, variance analysis and management reporting.
• Support strategic decision‑making through robust financial modelling and business‑case evaluations.
• Ensure strong governance, compliance and internal controls across manufacturing finance processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve financial visibility and operational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Fully qualified member of a recognised professional accounting body (CA Sri Lanka / ACCA / CIMA).
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• 8‑12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3‑5 years in a finance business‑partnering role within manufacturing, FMCG, beverage, distillation or process industries.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, costing methodologies and operational performance management.
