About the role

Environmental Foundation (Guarantee) Ltd is a non‑profit public‑interest litigation organisation in Sri Lanka dedicated to “Justice for Nature”. The foundation is looking for a Senior Legal Officer who is passionate about the environment to join its dynamic legal team. The officer will support litigation strategies, draft legal documents, and collaborate with scientists and policy makers to ensure that environmental cases are robust and evidence‑based. The position is a one‑year renewable contract, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on Sri Lanka’s ecological future.

Key responsibilities

Required profile

• Attorney‑at‑Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka with 4‑5 years of relevant experience in litigation or advisory work.
• Law degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala or Tamil.
• Knowledge of writ applications and fundamental rights applications.
• Experience in environmental law and project management.
• Preferred experience in legal research and report writing.
