Senior Legal Manager

About the role

LOLC Group is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Manager to lead its Legal Department in Borella, Sri Lanka. The role involves overseeing complex property transactions, drafting a wide range of legal instruments, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the conglomerate’s diversified businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and approve land titles for leases, acquisitions, mortgages, and title restructuring.
• Review title reports, draft deeds, agreements, and powers of attorney, providing critical commentary.
• Draft, execute, and attest notarial instruments such as lease indentures, transfer deeds, gift deeds, mortgage bonds, and commercial agreements.
• Prepare and manage non‑notarial documents including AT forms, priority notices, and affidavits.
• Liaise with statutory regulators and public authorities to secure operational and transactional compliance.
• Mentor and guide junior legal team members on document standards and transactional workflows.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
• Admission to practice as an Attorney‑at‑Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) and a valid Notary licence for Colombo jurisdiction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala.
