Senior Lead Analyst - Security Administration

About the role

The Senior Lead Analyst – Security Administration is a hands‑on technical position responsible for advanced user access management across Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Azure AD environments. The role acts as a subject‑matter expert, providing mentorship to junior analysts while driving process improvements and automation. It is an individual‑contributor role with occasional after‑hours support for priority issues.

Key responsibilities

• Execute complex user provisioning and de‑provisioning across AD domains and cloud applications, handling high‑complexity or sensitive access requests.
• Administer on‑premises and cloud Active Directory, Exchange, and Azure AD – including account management, permission changes, mailbox provisioning and group administration.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for intricate access or system issues, collaborating with IT teams to resolve high‑impact problems.
• Provide technical guidance, training and peer‑review support to junior analysts.
• Maintain compliance with SOX, security and audit requirements, documenting all changes and approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in IT security, IAM or system administration with a focus on account and access management.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, CompTIA Security+, CISA, CISM or SailPoint Certified.
• Experience working in compliance‑driven, enterprise‑scale IAM environments.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange (on‑prem & online) and Azure Active Directory.
• Proficient PowerShell scripting for automation and process improvement.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow (or similar ticketing platforms).
• Knowledge of identity and access management best practices and governance.
• Ability to troubleshoot, resolve and document complex access issues.
