Senior Lead Agentic AI Engineer - Construction & Engineering

About the role

IFS is rebuilding how it ships software around autonomous, AI-native teams and is looking for a person to lead one. You will write production code following agentic engineering principles, own it in production and set the bar for a small team of engineers who do the same. The software powers workforce management, project delivery and scheduling systems used by construction and engineering companies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small, autonomous team by setting technical direction, driving delivery and quality, and growing the engineers around you.
• Design and ship full-lifecycle features across front-end and back-end.
• Build and consume the APIs and event-driven services that connect workforce, project, scheduling and financial data across IFS Cloud and customer systems.
• Make performance and scalability decisions that hold under load.
• Work in customer environments, test assumptions against reality and bring the evidence back into the build.
• Document the why behind decisions and help raise the practice of everyone you work alongside.

Required profile

• A strong engineer who enjoys leading people and staying close to the code.
• Depth in at least one area (front-end, back-end, data, quality, security, platform or applied AI) and the range to work across the stack.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Nice to have: a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, experience shipping AI-backed features such as LLM integration, RAG or agentic patterns, and experience with agile delivery with globally distributed teams.

Required skills

• Full-stack development on modern general-purpose languages.
• Cloud-native platform with Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC/GitOps and observability.
• Fluency with AI tools and agentic patterns in real engineering work.
