Senior GL Accountant

About the role

We are hiring on behalf of a US‑based client to strengthen their corporate accounting team. This hands‑on GL accounting position focuses on AP cleanup, ideal for candidates who enjoy detailed work, fixing broken processes, and building clean books.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including AP accruals, prepaid entries, banking entries, allocations, and month‑end close.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and analyze vendor accounts as part of an AP cleanup initiative.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Manage vendor setup procedures and maintain documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Support audits by providing documentation and explanations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in General Ledger.
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel – pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear, professional communication in English, both written and verbal.
