Senior Executive - Transport Accounting

About the role

Varun Beverages is seeking a Senior Executive to lead transport accounting functions, ensuring accurate invoice processing, cost accruals, and compliance across its beverage distribution network. The role will work closely with logistics, procurement, and finance teams to optimise transport spend and support financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end transport invoice processing, validation and vendor payments in line with contracts and company policies.
• Prepare and maintain monthly transport cost accruals, provisions and ensure cut‑off compliance.
• Monitor invoice ageing, guarantee timely posting and payments according to internal SLAs.
• Produce monthly transport cost reports, budget‑vs‑actual analysis and vendor/route spend insights.
• Maintain and update transport rate masters in SAP or relevant ERP/TMS systems with appropriate controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations and audit requirements.
• Reconcile vendor ledgers, GR/IR and accrual accounts accurately.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Procurement and Finance teams to resolve issues and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in transport or logistics accounting, accounts payable or cost control.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP (FI/MM modules, rate master, PO, GR, IR).
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and Power Query.
