Senior Engineer - Business Intelligence

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to design, build, and maintain data transformation pipelines and analytics solutions on Microsoft Fabric. The role involves creating enterprise‑level semantic models, developing Power BI visualisations, and ensuring data governance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data transformation pipelines and workflows using Microsoft Fabric, Dataflows, and Fabric Warehouse.
• Build and maintain shared semantic models following star‑schema, fact‑dimension, and hierarchy best practices.
• Define security roles and data access controls at country, station, and user levels.
• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, apps, and paginated reports that meet business needs.
• Manage Power BI administration, optimise report performance, and support data governance activities.
• Mentor junior BI engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish team standards.
• Communicate data insights clearly to stakeholders and maintain documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence and analytics.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Data modelling – star schema, fact and dimension design
• Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Server
• SQL (complex queries, optimisation)
• Python for scripting and data processing
• Azure Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake (advantageous)
• Git or GitHub for version control and CI/CD (advantageous)
