Senior DevOps Engineer – UK Operational hours

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join NEXT Technology Sri Lanka, supporting NEXT’s global retail operations. You will work with development teams to design, build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, primarily on Microsoft Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Automate creation and deployment of Development, Test, Pre‑Production and Production environments using Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
• Create and modify IaC scripts to provision Azure IaaS, SaaS and PaaS resources.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines (YAML) and integrate automated testing with build processes.
• Maintain and govern test environments to ensure consistency across the software lifecycle.
• Handle source‑code management, enforce branching strategies and set up NuGet/npm repositories.
• Develop data‑refresh processes while securing and anonymising sensitive data.
• Use monitoring tools for application, server and service diagnostics.
• Assist development teams with performance and volume testing, and set up IIS/Node.js web servers.
• Identify and automate departmental processes, produce documentation, and provide cloud‑architecture guidance.
• Apply DevSecOps principles and collaborate with internal and external security auditors.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
• Strong background with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Proficiency in containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools and YAML configuration.
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps and security best practices.
