Senior Data Protection SRE

About the role

We are looking for a self‑starting Senior Data Protection Engineer to join the LSEG Storage and Data Protection team. The role combines deep expertise in Rubrik with automation, software engineering and AI‑assisted operations to transform backup services into a highly automated, reliable platform.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and engineer the global Rubrik backup platform, driving reliability, observability and operational excellence.
• Design, develop and maintain Python automation to eliminate manual tasks and improve service efficiency.
• Create and manage GitLab repositories, CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies and automated deployments.
• Develop REST‑API integrations between Rubrik, ServiceNow, monitoring tools, CMDB and other enterprise systems.
• Implement SRE practices such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets and self‑healing mechanisms for common backup failures.
• Leverage AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI) and AIOps platforms to boost incident response and productivity.
• Build dashboards, analytics and predictive capacity reporting using monitoring and visualization platforms.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in enterprise backup environments, specifically with Rubrik.
• Strong background in automation, infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD concepts.
• Passion for reliability engineering and continuous service improvement.
