Senior Business Intelligence Developer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to lead our reporting development initiatives. The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise in Microsoft‑based reporting technologies and the ability to guide a team in delivering high‑quality, data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, SSRS reports, and semantic models.
• Work closely with product teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance for reporting efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers in report/dashboard development and best practices.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and product management across cross‑functional teams.
• Manage tasks, sprints, and deliverables using Jira.
• Maintain proper version control using Git and TFS.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience designing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and paginated reports for enterprise analytics.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, complex SQL query development, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• In‑depth knowledge of Power BI semantic models, DirectQuery, Import mode, and report performance optimization.
• Solid background in data modeling, dimensional modeling, advanced DAX, and Power Query (M) techniques.
• Experience implementing security and governance controls such as Row‑Level Security, Object‑Level Security, workspace administration, and sensitivity labels.
• Familiarity with AI‑powered analytics features like Microsoft Copilot, Q&A visuals, and Smart Narratives.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and performance‑tuning abilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical leadership skills.
