About the role
The Senior Biomedical Technician is responsible for the full lifecycle support of medical and laboratory equipment. This includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, installation, calibration and emergency repairs to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults on a wide range of biomedical devices and laboratory instruments.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including installation, adjustment, calibration and functional testing.
- Respond to emergency repair requests promptly to minimise equipment downtime.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and consumables.
- Demonstrate proper equipment operation to clinical staff when required.
- Conduct safety testing and assess the facility’s environment for electrical or mechanical hazards.
- Participate in emergency codes, audits with Quality Assurance and other ad‑hoc duties.
Required profile
- HNDE / ATI / NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electronics.
- 1–5 years of hands‑on experience servicing biomedical equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet short lead‑times for emergency repairs.
