Senior Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Senior Assistant Accountant will support the finance team by delivering accurate monthly management accounts and ensuring smooth banking operations. This role also involves handling import costing, stock valuation, and liaising with external auditors to guarantee compliance and timely audit completion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage day‑to‑day banking transactions.
• Handle correspondence with banks and other financial institutions.
• Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
• Assist in import costing and stock valuation processes.
• Support financial auditing activities and coordinate with external auditors.
• Maintain and update financial records using ERP systems or accounting software.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in import, storage, sales & marketing, and after‑sales service sectors.
• Strong expertise in import costing and inventory valuation.
• Proven experience preparing and presenting Management Information Reports (MIRs).
• At least 2 years of experience working in an audit firm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting packages.
