Senior Accounts Executive – Automotive Finance

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous and commercially‑minded professional to join the finance team of a leading automotive division in Colombo. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will handle day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting, inventory tracking, and compliance for vehicle importation, clearing, and retail distribution.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile foreign import documentation, Letters of Credit, duties, tariffs, clearing charges and freight costs for imported vehicles.
• Maintain unit‑level cost sheets and calculate landed costs to ensure accurate margin realization.
• Perform physical and system reconciliations of vehicle stock across showrooms, holding yards and bonded warehouses.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, vendor payments, customer invoices, dealer settlements and daily bank reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger, post month‑end journal entries and assist in preparing monthly management accounts and variance analyses.
• Support statutory tax filings (VAT, SSCL, WHT) and assist internal and external audit processes.

Required profile

• Full or partial qualification in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1‑6 years of hands‑on accounting experience in the automotive industry, preferably with vehicle importing, assembly or distribution.
• Strong understanding of import procedures, customs clearance documentation, landed cost calculations and LC financing structures.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with enterprise ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics or QuickBooks.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
