Senior Accounts Executive / Accounts Assistant (UK)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accounts Executive / Accounts Assistant to support UK‑based accounting practices from our Colombo office. You will work on‑site with a remote team, handling a full range of bookkeeping and reporting tasks while using modern cloud‑based tools.

Key responsibilities

• Handle bookkeeping, VAT returns and bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers and perform period‑end tasks.
• Post period‑ending journal entries.
• Prepare month‑end management accounts.
• Work with Xero and Dext for data extraction and processing.
• Collaborate with UK teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support a forward‑thinking UK practice that adopts the latest cloud accounting technology.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience with Xero and Dext; familiarity with Syft is a plus.
• AAT qualified or part‑qualified ICASL / ACCA / CIMA (QBE considered).
• Detail‑oriented, analytical and able to work independently.
• Team player comfortable with UK business hours.
