Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing automotive and tyre retail business in Kottawa. This full‑time, on‑site position will oversee all core accounting functions and deliver financial insight to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, manage accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare accurate financial statements.
• Lead monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support business planning.
• Produce management reports and financial insights for senior leadership.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems, internal controls, and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in core accounting functions such as GL management, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash‑flow management.
• Solid understanding of tax laws, regulatory requirements, and audit preparation.
• Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (CA, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus.
• Prior senior or lead accounting experience, preferably in retail or automotive sectors.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
