Senior Accountant

About the role

iLabs is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Battaramulla. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and supporting both local and US operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Manage cash flows, payout approvals, and maintain related records.
• Lead accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Oversee budget planning and financial forecasting.
• Act as primary liaison for internal and external audits.
• Utilise QuickBooks, banking payroll platforms, and Coupa for financial operations.
• Collaborate with US teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Supervise and train accounting staff, handling performance evaluations and career development.
• Implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CA/CIMA, CMA, ACCA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of finance/accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Working knowledge of tax and statutory compliance in Sri Lanka and the USA.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
