About the role

The Principal – Embilipitiya is a full-time, on-site leadership role at the Leeds International School branch in Embilipitiya. The Principal will oversee academic and administrative operations, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support academic and administrative staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
• Monitor curriculum delivery and ensure consistent academic quality across all grades.
• Manage school policies, discipline, and maintain a positive school culture.
• Engage with students, families, and the wider community to promote holistic education and extracurricular participation.
• Lead strategic planning, school development initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Align the branch with the overall vision and values of Leeds International School.

Required profile

• Strong leadership, people‑management and team‑building skills.
• Proficiency in school administration, strategic planning and policy implementation within a K‑12 setting.
• Experience in curriculum oversight, classroom observation and academic quality assurance.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Ability to foster a student‑centered, inclusive and safe learning environment.
• Relevant academic qualifications (Bachelor’s in Education; Master’s and prior Principal experience highly beneficial).
• Strong organizational, decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.
• High ethical standards, cultural sensitivity and alignment with the school’s mission.
